Important new legislation already filed includes Senate Bill No. 72 called the Electronic Wills and Remote Witnesses Act, and Senate Bill No. 97 which proposes to amend the Illinois Notary Act by establishing and regulating electronic notarization and electronic notaries public, as well as provide that a paper or tangible copy of an electronic document that a notary public has certified to be a true and correct copy satisfies specified recording requirements.
