A valuable introduction to the similarities, and substantial differences, between federal civil procedure and civil procedure in the Illinois state judicial system. This course starts by reviewing the constitutional and historical sources of Federal and Illinois court structure and procedure. The course then compares the two, illustrating the sometimes substantive differences, and introducing participants to the rules and processes necessary to practice at the state level in Illinois.
