Richard F. Bales is Assistance Regional Counsel at Chicago Title Insurance Company in Lisle. He concentrates his practice in real estate law. He is a member of the American Land Title Association/National Society of Professional Surveyors liaison committee that drafts the national land title survey standards, was recognized as Northern Illinois University College of Law’s 2015 Alum of the Year, and is the author of THE GREAT CHICAGO FIRE AND THE MYTH OF MRS O’LEARY’S COW. Mr. Bales received his B.A. from Illinois College and his J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law.
Paul C. Cozzi is Vice President — Senior Underwriting Counsel at Fidelity National Title Group, Inc., in Chicago. He concentrates his practice on real estate, insurance, and regulatory. He was President of the Illinois Land Title Association (ILTA) from 2009 to 2010 and a Member of the ILTA’s Legislative and Title Counsel Committees and the American Land Title Association’s Native American Lands Committee. Mr. Cozzi received his B.S. from North Central College and his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law.
Jadranka A. Cruciger is Associate Commercial Counsel for National Commercial Services at Chicago Title Insurance Company in Chicago where she concentrates her practice on local commercial title insurance. She is a member of the Illinois and California State Bar Associations and the Chicago Loop Alliance.
Jerry T. Gorman is Senior Vice President of Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund, Inc., in Champaign. His concentration is in real estate and title insurance. He is a Member of the American Land Title Association Forms Committee. Mr. Gorman received his B.S. from University of Colorado and his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
Peter M. King is a Partner at King Holloway LLC in Chicago, where he represents parties in real estate disputes and represents employers in labor and employment matters. He is a member of the Illinois Land Title Association and the Defense Research Institute. He also served an externship with the Special Prosecutions Bureau of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago. Mr. King received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and his J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago Law School.
Andrew D. Lundberg is Vice President and Senior Underwriting Attorney for UCCPlus, where he concentrates on underwriting complex energy transactions and multiple tranche mezzanine loans. He received his M.B.A. from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law.
Frank Pellegrini is Principal at Pellegrini & Cristiano in Oak Park, where he focuses his practice on real property. He served as President of the American Land Title Association from 2012 to 2013, President of the Illinois Land Title Association from 2004 to 2005, and a member of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Real Estate Section Council. Mr. Pellegrini received his B.S. from DePaul University and his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law.
Paul Peterson was a Vice President and Senior Underwriter for Fidelity National Family of Title Insurance Companies, having joined Chicago Title Insurance Company in 1971. He specialized in mechanics’ lien underwriting, mechanics lien workouts and claims, and financial analysis. He chaired the group that revised the Illinois mechanics lien coverage for lenders in 2010. Mr. Peterson received the Illinois Land Title President’s Award for his work in the passage of the bonding statute that is now §38.1 of the Illinois Mechanics Lien Act. He currently is a sole practitioner doing some consulting. Mr. Peterson is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, a former chair and the current co-coordinator of the CLE subcommittee of the ISBA Construction Law Section Council, a member of the ISBA Real Estate Law Section Council, a past president of the Society of Illinois Construction Attorneys, and a former chairman of the CBA Mechanics’ Lien Subcommittee. Mr. Peterson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
Samuel A. Shiel is Vice President/Midwest Underwriting Counsel at AmTrust Title Insurance Company in Chicago, where he primarily focuses on title insurance. He is a former member of the Illinois Land Title Association, the current Chair of the Title Counsel Committee for the Illinois Land Title Association, and licensed to practice law in Michigan and Illinois. Mr. Shiel received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
Gary M. Zimmerman is Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Counsel at UCCPlus, where he focuses on the insurability of real estate mezzanine loan transactions, project finance and energy transactions, and major-market working capital and term loans. He is a Member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section and the Chicago Bar Association. Mr. Zimmerman received his B.A. from Drake University and his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law.
