Judge Gembala is a former faculty member of the National Judicial College at the University of Nevada at Reno and has previously served as President of the Chicago Advocates Society, as Chair of the Chicago Bar Association Criminal Law Committee, as a member of the Board of Governors of the Illinois Judges Association, and as a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Task Force for Technical Revisions to the Illinois Domestic Violence Act. He frequently serves as a faculty member and guest lecturer for numerous professional organizations. He lectured at the RSM McGladrey Tax Conference and participated as a keynote panelist at the 9th International Conference on Family Violence. He served several times on the faculty of the Business Valuation, Financial, and Tax Issues Affecting Divorce programs cosponsored by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Illinois Chapter, IICLE®, and Trenwith Valuation.
