Richard F. Bales (2019) is Assistance Regional Counsel at Chicago Title Insurance Company in Lisle. He concentrates his practice in real estate law. He is a member of the American Land Title Association/National Society of Professional Surveyors liaison committee that drafts the national land title survey standards, was recognized as Northern Illinois University College of Law’s 2015 Alum of the Year, and the author of THE GREAT CHICAGO FIRE AND THE MYTH OF MRS O’LEARY’S COW. He received his B.A. from Illinois College and his J.D. from the Northern Illinois University College of Law.
Paul C. Cozzi is the Vice President — Senior Underwriting Counsel at Fidelity National Title Group, Inc., in Chicago. He concentrates his practice on title insurance, real estate, and regulatory law. He was Past President of the Illinois Land Title Association (ILTA) from 2009 to 2010 and the Vice Chair of the Native American Lands Work Group of the American Land Title Association. He has also served as a commissioner of the Illinois Electronic Recording Commission since 2007. Jerry T. Gorman (2019) is Senior Vice President of Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund, Inc., in Champaign. His concentration is in real estate and title insurance. He is a Member of the American Land Title Association Forms Committee. Mr. Gorman received his B.S. from the University of Colorado and his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
Peter M. King is a Partner at King Holloway LLC in Chicago, where he represents parties in real estate disputes and represents employers in labor and employment matters. He is a member of the Illinois Land Title Association and the Defense Research Institute. He also served an externship with the Special Prosecutions Bureau of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago. Mr. King received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Illinois University and his J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago Law School.
Andrew D. Lundberg is Vice President and Senior Underwriting Attorney for UCCPlus, where he concentrates on underwriting complex energy transactions and multiple tranche mezzanine loans. He received his M.B.A. from DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and his J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law.
Frank Pellegrini (2019) is Principal at Pellegrini & Cristiano in Oak Park, where he focuses his practice on real property. He served as President of the American Land Title Association from 2012 to 2013, President of the Illinois Land Title Association from 2004 to 2005, and a member of the Illinois State Bar Association’s Real Estate Section Council. Mr. Pellegrini received his B.S. from DePaul University and his J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law.
Paul Peterson is a sole practitioner in Mount Prospect, where he focuses on title insurance and construction law. He is the Secretary of the Construction Law Committee and member of the Title Insurance Committee of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers; the CLE Co-Coordinator of the Construction Law Section Council and Chair of the Legislation Subcommittee of the Real Estate Law Section Council of the Illinois State Bar Association; and member of the Legislative Committee and the Title Counsel Committee of Illinois Land Title Association, which awarded him the 2015 President’s Award for legislative efforts. Mr. Peterson received his J.D. from the Chicago-Kent College of Law.
Samuel A. Shiel is Vice President/National Underwriting Counsel at Old Republic National Title Insurance Company in Chicago, where he serves as in-house counsel. He is Co-Vice Chair of the American Land Title Association’s Native American Lands Work Group and a Past Board Member of the Illinois Land Title Association. Mr. Shiel received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.
Gary M. Zimmerman is Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Counsel at UCCPlus, where he focuses on the insurability of real estate mezzanine loan transactions, project finance and energy transactions, and major-market working capital and term loans. He is a Member of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section and the Chicago Bar Association. Mr. Zimmerman received his B.A. from Drake University and his J.D. from the DePaul University College of Law.
