Miller, a Partner at Miller PC in Chicago, specializes in commercial litigation and class actions. He has advised clients and litigated disputes in matters involving breaches of contract, real estate, insurance coverage, creditors’ rights, products liability, class actions, licenses, trademarks, employment disputes, and corporate veil piercing claims, among others. He has represented billion dollar corporations in both state and federal court.
Early in his career, Miller served as a prosecutor for Champaign County for over two years, during which time he litigated approximately fifty jury trials as well as innumerable bench trials. He prosecuted four murder cases, two of which went to trial, resulting in sentences of 45 and 55 years. He once prosecuted five jury trials, back-to-back, obtaining guilty verdicts in every case.
Miller is an adjunct professor at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, a "Top 10" law school, where he has taught Trial Advocacy since 2005, Advanced Trial Advocacy since 2013, and a summer LLM Trial Advocacy course since 2018. He has been an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association since 2008 and an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority since 2018. As an arbitrator, he has conducted numerous hearings, presided over in-person trials, and decided numerous cases.
In 2008, Miller was named to Chicago Magazine's 40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch list. His peers have repeatedly selected him to be a Rising Star, Super Lawyer, and Leading Lawyer. He has spoken at his law school's student-alumni conferences and served as the president of his law school's alumni board. In 2017, Mr. Miller received his law school's Alumni Loyalty Award. He joined IICLE®’s Board of Directors in 2023.
Miller is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, and the University Club of Chicago. He has published over 30 works and spoken on a variety of litigation-related topics. Miller graduated cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law and magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Business.
