For our November Author Spotlight, we highlight the accomplishments of Elisha D. Sanders and Casey L. Twomey of Sanders & Twomey, LLC, in Marion, who are contributing authors of ADVISING ELDERLY CLIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES (IICLE®, 2023), coauthoring Chapter 4, Planning for Incapacity: Powers of Attorney, Living Trusts, and Forms of Ownership.
Sanders and Twomey were both mentored by William L. “Bill” Broom, Patricia Hoke, and Patricia Small, who had been IICLE volunteers and encouraged Sanders and Twomey to do likewise. A significant portion of Sanders and Twomey’s practice focuses on eminent domain and estate planning, giving them the experience to write knowledgeably on those areas of the law.
Outside of their work at Sanders & Twomey, LLC, Sanders and Twomey are both members of the Illinois State Bar Association. Sanders is also a member of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Character & Fitness, Fifth District, and Twomey is a past President of the Jackson County Bar Association. Sanders received her B.S. from Southeast Missouri State University, and Twomey received her B.A. from Southern Illinois University. Both received their J.D. degrees from Southern Illinois University School of Law.
