COVID: A Rose by Any Other Name Would Still Smell the Same – Panel Discussion
Have you ever wanted to be a fly on the wall as experienced practitioners from several different practice areas of concentration discuss how COVID-19 and other recent issues have impacted their practices?  In order to learn what they think, what they tried that worked – or didn’t – and what the future might hold?  You’re in luck!  The program begins with our COVID-19 panel doing just that.

Illinois Form Contracts Compared
This panel will discuss a variety of form contracts used in various parts of Illinois. These forms differ significantly, and the idea is not to pick the best or worst form, but to alert practitioners to the different treatments of several important issues.  Panelists will also discuss best practices for dealing with opposing counsel and resolving practical COVID-19 problems.
Deborah Frank Feinen, Attorneys’ Title Guaranty Fund, Inc., Champaign
Donald Hyun Kiolbassa, Law Offices of Kiolbassa, Holmes & Ansong, Chicago
Colleen Sahlas, Law Offices of Hoy & Sahlas, LLC, Oak Brook
Michael Shalbrack, HolmstromKennedy, Rockford

Landlord-Tenant Update
Landlord-tenant practice has never been more heavily legislated by the CRLTO and the CCRTLO.  Do these ordinances favor one “side” over the other?  What can your client do and what must your client never do?  What about eviction moratoria? The ins and outs are presented by a very experienced practitioner in an organized and down-to-earth manner.
Jack Bailey, Law Office of Jack Bailey, Chicago

Real Estate Disclosure Statute
Review Illinois’ current real estate disclosure statute, highlighting common questions and answers, along with misconceptions.  Our speaker chairs a specialty bar committee reviewing the existing statute with a view towards recommending potential revisions to the statute.  Although proposed amendments do not yet exist, he will review some of the most confusing aspects of the current statute.
