An Inside View from the Governor’s Lawyer
The General Counsel to the Governor of Illinois is the chief legal advisor to the Governor and members of his staff on wide-ranging matters of ethics and compliance, personnel, litigation, and regulatory and legislative initiatives. The Office oversees approximately 50 agencies, Boards and Commissions throughout the state of Illinois, with a work force of roughly 45,000. The current and former General Counsel to Governor Rauner will join us for a panel discussion on the important and complicated legal issues that confronted them in this critically important position in our state government. They will share “war stories” and legal strategies involved in some of the key legal matters over the last four years, including the US Supreme Court’s decision in the Janus case.
