IICLE® is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the professional development of Illinois attorneys through Illinois-focused practice guidance.
In 1961, IICLE® was originally founded as the Institute on Continuing Education of the Illinois Bar, a §501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation headquarted at 424 S. Second Street, Springfield, IL. In 1968, IICLE® was reincorporated as the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. In 1975, IICLE® headquarters moved to 2395 W. Jefferson Street, Springfield, IL 62702. In 2011, IICLE® relocated its headquarters to 3161 W. White Oaks Drive, Suite 300, Springfield, IL 62704. The IICLE® Chicago office is located at 200 South Wacker Drive, Suite 2375, Chicago, IL 60606.
IICLE® is governed by a 16-member Board of Directors composed of Illinois lawyers and judges and is managed by a professional staff in Springfield and Chicago.
IICLE® offers over 100 live courses each year on important practice topics and has published over 100 practice handbooks with periodic updates providing “how to” instruction for Illinois lawyers as well as several electronic versions of legal forms. IICLE® also maintains IICLE® Online, an extensive online research library launched in 2000 that contains all current publications and forms.
